Defensive Driving Course
Our Defensive
Driving Course for Texas Ticket Dismissal is available
24 hours a day, 7 days a week and you can log in and out
at your convenience. Unlike most other online courses that
force you to spend hours reading dull material, our course
uses award wining videos and animations,
including reenactments of actual collisions. The videos
are accompanied by narrative explaining the incident and
how being a better defensive driver may have avoided the
collision. You can take the course from the comfort of your
own home, at your own convenience. We keep light, believe
me it's not rocket science. This isn't "Survivor"
and we won't vote you off the island. If you
just follow the material the odds of passing the first time
through are almost a given. Our goal is to make it fun and
interesting enough so that before you know it your done
and are better to avoid dangerous situations out there in
out big state.
Defensive Driving Texas
As we all know, Texas roadways
are getting busier and more congested. Traffic safety is the
responsibility of all drivers. Every time we get on the road
in a vehicle, we're not only taking our own lives in our hands,
but the lives of others around us as well. We use motor vehicles
more than any other form of transportation in the U.S. Motor
vehicles have given us an exceptional degree of mobility,
but with this come risks. Defensive Driving
is the key to safely driving our texas roadways. Young drivers
are most at risk of being in a collision and they die at higher
rates than any other age group. While 15-to-20 year olds represent
8.4 percent of the U.S. population and 6.3 percent of licensed
drivers, they accounted for 13.6 percent of the drivers involved
in fatal motor vehicle crashes. Speeding is many times associated
with young drivers. By far the majority of collisions involving
speed are by younger drivers
Defensive Driving and Safety
Part of being a good Defensive Driver involves knowing the
Safety Features of your car, what they do and how to use them.
* ESP, or an electronic stability program, is a broad term
that encompasses a number of different electronic safety systems
that have all been designed to protect you and your family.
Whether you choose buy a new or used Peugeot or other vehicle,
there are a number of important safety features to keep in
mind - for the safety of your precious load.
* Passenger Side Air Bags - These ensure that your passengers
are well protected in the event of a crash. Some cars only
come with a front impact airbag, while others are equipped
with side airbags for both the torso and the head.
* Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) - when engaged, the ABS
system automatically "pumps" the brakes as you go
over a watery or icy patch to keep the wheels turning, allowing
you to maintain control of the vehicle. Ensure your ABS is
engaged when driving in the wet, especially during inclimate
weather.
* Electronic Stability Control (ESC) - When the ESC detects
that steering control is lost, it effectively compensates
by changing brake pressure to stop as quickly and safely as
possible. This is especially useful if you swerve off course
into uneven terrain. For example, if the left side of your
vehicle is on the pavement while the right side is travelling
through water, the left brake will receive more continuous
pressure than the right, while the right brakes will be pumped
to maintain traction.
* Cornering Brake Control (CBC) - In the event that you need
to swerve suddenly while braking in order to avoid a collision,
CBC modulates the brake pressure according to the angle of
the tires to ensure that you remain in control over the car
at all times. It also helps prevent the tendency to oversteer
in a moment of panic.
* Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) - Also known as traction control,
this helps you maintain control of your vehicle while accelerating.
If you hit a bit of loose gravel or a wet patch while your
foot is on the pedal, ASR will intervene and slow the car
down, in order to keep your wheels grounded and your car in
control.
